The Power Beneath the Surface

We all know the experience: driving somewhere and suddenly realizing you barely remember the journey.

Your subconscious took the wheel — shifting, steering, braking — while your conscious mind was elsewhere.

The same happens in so many areas of life.

Once-upon-a-time effort becomes habit,

habit becomes automatic,

and the automatic becomes: “This is just who I am.”

But that silent driver within us does more than guide our hands.

It also guides our stories, our fears, our reactions — even our light and darkness.

When Darkness Stays (Even After Acceptance)

We often hear that when we fully accept our shadows, the light naturally returns.

And often that’s true.

But sometimes — even when we acknowledge the dark without resistance — it simply stays.

Peaceful, present, waiting.

Acceptance opens the door…

but that doesn’t guarantee the light will step through on its own.

The Gentle Inner Movement

And that’s where conscious choice comes in.

A breath.

A soft intention.

A song that shifts your inner weather.

A single imagined pink cloud.

Tiny movements that help your subconscious reorient —

nudging the silent driver toward brightness instead of repetition.

Inviting the Light Back In

So yes, the subconscious often drives our car.

But we’re not passengers.

We get to whisper new directions.

Acceptance opens the door.

But sometimes… we still need to invite the light.

(Just my humble experience. 😌)
