Sometimes music doesn’t just touch you, but completely sweeps you away—far from the worries of everyday life, to a place where words fall short.
It’s hard to explain exactly what happens when music lifts you up and carries you along in a stream of sound, as if you’re traveling to the most beautiful destination imaginable. Last night, during Ludovico Einaudi’s concert in Brussels, I made such a journey together with thousands of others.
Einaudi has the gift of speaking directly to the heart, and then carrying all those moved hearts along at once. It’s an experience where another world seems to open up: one of peace, connection, love, warmth, and hope.
Everything that feels heavy simply falls away, and you become light. In any way. You don’t just hear the music—you live it. A wordless language that everyone understands.
I probably don’t need to tell you that I’m a huge fan. But honestly, I can hardly imagine that you wouldn’t be—even if only to experience such a journey yourself.
And ultimately, to reach the destination where it all leads to:
“Imagine peace – verbeeld je vrede – imagine la paix – immagina la pace”…
I didn’t only reach that destination, I felt it. It’s like living in a dream.
In that moment, I could only think: “If every person paid attention to simple happiness and living in love… then surely peace on earth cannot be far away?”
So I wish everyone such a journey…
Just let yourself be carried away by Einaudi’s music, with the words “imagine peace” in mind. It will undoubtedly bring you closer to Love. Which you can then put into action.
