Sometimes my mind wanders even more extremely than usual to anything but coherent thoughts. So even more chaos, while I usually already lack focus. Even less realistic assessment of time as well, while the clock isn’t already my best friend. 

Humor & self-reflection help then, an extra hurray too for yoga. But alsof the simplicity of conscious breathing. 

Breathing deeply in and long(er) out, with possibly a short pause in between, it literally does wonders. It’s like counting to 10 before you react, but more powerful. Because it takes your nervous system out of the primary reflexes of flight-or-fight, puts you with both feet on the ground & even helps in conflicts with fellow humans. 

And do you know what also intrigues me about breath? Through oxygen and thus our breathing, we really are essentially all connected. There are wise scientists to  prove that we may one day breathe the same molecules as anyone else.  An insanely beautiful thought, no? That by just doing what it takes to stay alive (breathing), you connect with Ghandi or MLK, just to name two people I would love to be assimilated with. 

It really is true, you may look up the science to prove it. It has to do with the fact that oxygen is recycled and not destroyed. 

So that proves that we all, literally and figuratively, share the essence of our lives. Let’s all then inhale deeply all good energy and exhale long and slowly love & kindness.
